Autzen Stadium proved to be a haunted house that totallyfreaked out the USC Trojans Saturday.

Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli carved massive holes in the Trojan defense throwing for 222 yards and a touchdown. Making matters worse, he also ran for 164 yards while scoring another touchdown as the 10th-ranked Ducks smashed the Trojans of Southern California 47-20, handing them their worse loss in the last 12 years. Also smashed was USC’s Pac-10 title hopes and along with any BCS appearance in 2010. Pete Carroll has not experienced a worse loss since taking over the USC Trojan program in 2001.

After suspensions and injuries, redshirt freshman LaMichael James had a break out game with 183 yards and a TD on the ground. Nothing says ‘I’m ready to play, coach’ like a game with the aforementioned statistics. James, hanging 183 on the nation’s fifth-best rush defense, is ready for the spotlight.

Speaking of a nationally ranked defense, USC gave up 613 total yards to the Ducks of Oregon.

The Ducks were able to do as they please for the entire game. They made the USC defense look like nothing more than a scouting squad.

Since a 2001 game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish has USC lost a game by more than a touchdown. No one has beaten the Trojans as soundly as the Ducks did Saturday in over a decade.

Oregon is now alone in first place in the Pac-10. Should they remain there for the rest of the season, it will be the first time in seven years the USC Trojans has not won or shared the conference title. In addition, this also means USC will not be invited to a BCS game for the first time in seven years. Oregon’s pounding of the Trojans is much more than devastating.

The Ducks have managed to put together a string of impressive wins in the last seven games since being embarrassed 19-8 by Boise State. A game that ended with LeGarrette Blount getting suspended for being an idiot by punching a Broncos defensive end at the end of the game. It does not seem Ducks Nation will miss Blount if redshirt freshman James continues putting big time yards against tough defenses. Yes. Blount has been replaced.

Pete Carroll has now lost four straight games in the state of Oregon. He should get the memo: LaMichael James is in town and he has a statement to make.
